All The Young
Welcome Home
new single
Another great track from All The Young, medium paced and weighty lyrics 'Welcome Home' throws down the gauntlet and sounds like a hit, top ten should there be any justice.
.. Here's the press release...

All The Young release second single ‘Welcome Home’ on July 4th on Midlands Calling
“Those present will be able to say they were there when the new guitar revolution kicked off." – NME live review
“All The Young bring a touch of second album Clash and mid-period Manics to their rousing, anthemic songs” – Sunday Times Culture
Quickly building a reputation as the leading contender in a brave new era of British rock ‘n’ roll following their debut single ‘The First Time’ and live dates with Brother, Stoke quartet All The Young will release their second single ‘Welcome Home’ on July 4th on Midlands Calling.
'Welcome Home' is an unstoppable rallying call, with avalanche breakdowns, blockbuster riffage and a scorching chorus hook that can't help but ignite a taper in the mind of any lover of good honest indie-rock.
"'Welcome Home' was the one when after we first played it all the way through, we looked around at each other in a different way. Like we didn't know we had it in us," says frontman Ryan Dooley. "It means business that one. There's no way you can play it without your heart and soul fully in it."
All The Young are a band whose whole manifesto chimes with the age-old tale of the lads from a nowhere town, singing about something better than what's outside their door. Currently embarking upon a UK tour, All The Young will then head to Canada for further recording for their debut album with producer GGGarth Richardson (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine, Biffy Clyro) with mixing courtesy of Rich Costey (Mars Volta, Muse, Glasvegas), before returning for further dates. The band were personally invited by Morrissey to support him at Hanley’s Victoria Hall on July 5th and will also support The Courteeners at a special outdoor gig for the Forestry Commission. The band’s full upcoming tour itinerary is:
May
13th – Preston, Mad Ferret
14th – Sunderland, Independent
21st – Stoke, Underground
28th – Bristol, Dot To Dot Festival
29th – Nottingham, Dot To Dot Festival
July

Clare Maguire
The Shield & The Sword
new single 9 May 2011
A fine, well constructed pop song which should be dominating the airwaves.. great vocals, sexy image... what's Radio One's problem? Great record

"The voice of 2011 gets off to a winning start" Q ****
"The verses are bigger; the choruses bigger still and the intensity unyielding" Grazia
“A singer with an extraordinary voice and songwriting talent” Observer
As Clare prepares to embark on her sell out headline tour of the UK next week, we’re pleased to announce the details of her next single ‘The Shield and The Sword’ on May 9. Taken from her recent Top 10 debut album ‘Light After Dark’, it follows in the footsteps of its epic predecessor ‘The Last Dance’ and firmly establishes Clare as one of 2011’s biggest talents. “The Voice” continues to bedazzle and enthrall as she powerfully sings of how hurt from a deteriorating relationship can turn into inner strength and you find yourself facing challenges alone.

Flogging Molly
Don't Shut Em Down / Revolution
new single to be confirmed
Two top trax... nice to have Molly back with us, should pick up some choice airplay and interest.

FLOGGING MOLLY, the legendary 7-piece Celtic punk ensemble, are set to release their forthcoming 5th studio album worldwide in May 2011. Record with producer by Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Avett Brothers). The new release follows up their acclaimed 2008 release ‘Float’, which debuted at #4 on the US Billboard Top 200 and sold over 2 million copies in the US. The band’s last album also sold over 80,000 copies in the UK and Europe.
To celebrate the new record, the band are offering a blistering first single, ‘Don’t Shut 'Em Down’, as a free download. The song, a rebel rousing commentary on America’s economic downturn, is the perfect representation of the bands' expertly honed sound as well as a reflection of the central themes of the new record.
The bulk of the new album was written in the city of Detroit, original home to Flogging Molly fiddler (and front man Dave King's wife) Bridget Regan, and the city where the couple have resided almost fulltime for the last three years. “Speed Of Darkness” takes a hard-nosed look at the economic collapse in the US and the direct effect it has had on everyday people. The Motor City serves as the album’s muse and a painful example of what has gone wrong in today’s world. To quote King, “It wasn’t the album we set out to write. It became the album we had to write”. This is an album of rebellion and exile, and of struggle and history and the fight, and moves the hard talking, hard playing outfit into the territory of purveyors of the modern American protest song.
“Speed Of Darkness” is a band firing on all cylinders. From the caustic album opener and title track to the itchy grooves of “The Power’s Out”, from the acoustic leanings of “Saints & Sinners” to storytelling of “Oliver Boy (All Of Our Boys)” this is an album bristling with grooves, melody and energy. Though much of the album conveys the worldwide economic angst that was nowhere more intense than in the American city of Detroit, there is actually a strong message of hope, humanity and the resilience of mankind.
The album will be released through the bands own new formed Borstal Beat Records. Flogging Molly will be signing other acts to the label.
Flogging Molly will be touring the UK in 2011. Confirmed dates so far
Saturday 25th June Glastonbury Festival
Friday 26th August Leeds Festival
Sunday 28th August Reading Festival

Not Getting Any Better
new single
I really like this outfit, 'Not Getting Any Better' is another strong tune (with an 8 minute album version) which deserves a breakthrough.. maybe this time...

Japanese Pop Stars
Joshua
new single 13 June 2011
After 'Let Go' and 'Destroy' this a stark little tune, cold new romantic, Editors type vocal over a thumping electro beat... fave mix is the radio edit.. not sure this song is made for dance mixes, the lyric is a little left-field... Nice though.

electronic band The Japanese Popstars, have carved out an enviable reputation in last few years, rivalling the biggest names in dance as the must-see live act with a coruscating show of foot-stomping, speaker smashing dance music that will blow you away.
The new single ‘Joshua’ see the band's melodic electro melded smoothly with Tom Smith's chilling vocals. Early last year The Japanese Popstars remixed an Editors track, leading the boys to draft in the bands’ lead singer, who recorded his vocals for 'Joshua' in Dean Street Studios.
Their forthcoming album ‘Controlling Your Allegiance’ (out June 20th) features collaborations with The Cure’s Robert Smith, Jon Spencer (of Blues Explosion fame), Chicago House Legend Green Velvet and psych folk singer James Vincent McMorrow. Together with four nominations for the 2011 Irish Dance Music Awards, The Japanese Popstars are well on course to be one of the rising acts of the Summer.
The Japanese Popstars have kicked off their live tour. They’ll soon be setting off on the 'Road To Rockness' Tour (Nottingham, Sheffield, Glasgow, Inverness, Dundee and Aberdeen). At the end of May the lads head to Ibiza for the IMS (Ibiza International Music Summit) where they will one of two acts playing live; in great company amongst 2 Many DJs, and Hercules & Love Affair. Festival dates follow on into the Summer.
06th May - Nottingham, Gatecrasher (Road To RockNess Tour)
07th May - Sheffield, Plug (Road To RockNess Tour)
10th May - Glasgow, Sub Club (Road To RockNess Tour)
11th May - Inverness, Ironworks (Road To RockNess Tour)
12th May - Dundee, Doghouse (Road To RockNess Tour)
13th May - Aberdeen, Snafu (Road To RockNess Tour)

Lady Gaga
Born This Way
new album 23 May 2011
'Government Hooker', 'Marry The Night', 'Bad Kids', 'Heavy Metal Lover', 'Electric Chapel'... just some of Lady GaGa's new titles. Some may think there's hype surrounding GaGa but the only important question is can she deliver? Well yes and then some... totally uncompromising.... mesmerising... Steph portrays a vulnerability which is not possible, that part of her act is surely completely implausible, this lady knows precisely what she's doing at every moment and does it brilliantly with devastating effect. To take 'Judas' as an example... it's enormous bamboozling bass speaker shattering production is a stand-out track of the year, whether one likes her lyrics or not, whether one likes GaGa or not... she's out Madonna'd Madonna - she's Born That Way and here to stay!

The Mirrors

new single 6 June 2011
Pleasant enough, though I think The Mirrors will need something stronger to make the quantum leap...

The Vaccines
All In White
new single 6 June 2011
Hmm what's this, a solitudinal intro, very mellow and alluring... ah but there's the thrashing guitars from London's Ramones for the TwentyTeens. This is a fine band and a fine new record which should pick up plenty of apropriate airplay the trick will be seeing Britains commercial stations play and support them... the mainlines, the Crapital and Bauer stations. These great new guitar bands deserve main stream airplay support and they're not getting it... the newish Gov should legislate to ensure these commercial radio money making machines support the great new British talent before it pales into complete insignificance. A great record.

The Vaccines have announced details of the release of a new single. All In White will be released through Columbia Records on Monday June 6th 2011.
Taken from their debut album, What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?, which made the top 5 in the UK on release in March, the single will feature the B-Side Tuck And Roll and will be available both digitally and on 7”.
Having previously played as part of the NME’s Awards Tour in February the band recently completed a short sold-out UK tour which culminated with 2 rapturous shows at London’s Electric Ballroom.
Having just played a number of well-received shows at the SxSW festival in Texas the band return to the U.S. in May to support the Arctic Monkeys. Their first trip to the States in January saw them sell out both the Bowery Ballroom in New York and Spaceland in L.A.
They also make their U.S. network television debut on the Late Show with David Letterman on May 23rd.
The Vaccines will return to the U.K. in the summer where they have already been confirmed to play most of the major festivals. Further U.K. headline dates will be announced shortly. The Vaccines are: Arni Arnason (bass), Freddie Cowan (guitar / vocals), Pete Robertson (drums) & Justin Young (vocals / guitar).

UK Top 40Sun 22 May 11
We do believe we have the right to feel anger... a Radio One Top 40 host of Ghanaian descent and not one UK act in the top ten... thirteen years of Labour's incredible 'social justice' nonsense, elevating minority music's profile and airtime above populist UK acts has left us without any identifiable UK pop stars and demoted UK male artists to non-leaguers... Thanks Labour.

Meanwhile American acts dominate the top ten with Pitbull taking top spot with his own track for the first time.

Adele's '21' tops the UK album chart again while 'Rolling In The Deep' stays top of America's Hot 100.

Oh yeah, thanks again Labour...

Bites The Dust...

Cardiff's Millenium Music Hall to close... With public service cuts and less money in circulation far tougher trading conditions lie ahead.
Worryingly and even frighteningly Xplosure understands many venues around St Mary's Street - Cardiff's City Centre on-street bar-room - are on the verge of closing.
Today's news of yet another live music venue closing reveals just how difficult things are right now. Millenium Music Hall appeared to be doing well pulling in acts like Grandmaster Flash and Mistallica - but not well enough to sustain itself. At least promoters have been given a week's notice of closure unlike Cardiff Barfly in 2010, whose owners felt the urgent need to close down with no notice...
Here's the story from the BBC
Music promoters have been left dismayed by the sudden closure of one of Cardiff's most popular rock venues.
It is understood the 800-capacity Millennium Music Hall next to the Millennium Stadium will stage its final gigs over the Bank Holiday weekend.
One promoter John Rostron said he knew the venue planned to relocate but said the short notice was "ridiculous".

ByeByeC Wales...
Posted Wednesday 25th May 2011 - WalesOnline

The same day the BBC (ie Westminster's Tory Government) announce severe cuts to BBC Wales funding... Radio Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire's commercial radio station has requested permission to drop much of it's Welsh language programming... Ceredigion is owned by millionaire Jason Bryant formerly of talkSport/Virgin Radio and programme controlled by Swansea boy Andrew 'Andy' Griffiths formerly of Wed Dwagon Wadio, Touch Wadio and Swansea Sound... see story here
Why?
Because money is tight and in the real world Welsh language programming doesn't pay for itself.
In the recent elections, Scotland's Nationalist Socialists, the SNP improved their vote to clinch a historic first majority government in the Scottish parliament while Welsh Nationalist Socialists Plaid Cymru struggled, losing voters, power and shedding 25% of their influence in Cardiff's Assembly.
Why?
Whereas the Scots Nationalists seem content to address their voters in English, perhaps Plaid's attempts to make the English language secondary, even in major travel centres like Cardiff General (sorry Central) has not endeared their cause to the 80% of the Welsh population who can neither speak Welsh nor understand it.
Now an unspoken Tory strategy seems to be emerging of how they'll tackle this bullying of the majority non-Welsh speakers.
This seems to some a purpose built bullying of the majority of Welsh people by Labour's long held dreams of undermining Tory power and destroying the UK by devolving power to... itself, Labour... Labour in the nations and Labour in the regions...
By starving BBC Wales of dosh, making cuts twice as deep as other BBC Regions there may be a bigger chance for the majority to be seen contributing rather than Labour's fantasy vision of a future utopia populated by an army of minorities...
To many BBC Wales has become a parody of Welshness...
Where's the Wenglish, virtually nowhere in the Beeb's radio or tv schedule's yet the unique blend of English words with Welsh bents known as Wenglish prevails in the Valleys just like it always has...
And maybe on BBC Wales soon as well.
Nothing is irreversible and maybe the BBC's production of 'Casualty' will be returned from Cardiff to it's proper home.. at the BBC in Bristol where it was made all these years until recently.

What's your favourite position?
"I love missionary. It sounds boring, but not if you do it well. I like being taken from behind, too, because it’s always better when the man takes control. There’s something very sexy about being dominated by a guy. My boyfriend tore my fishnets the other day while we were enjoying some bedroom sports. That was cool!"

Quote Ryan Giggs, dedicated professional footballer - twenty years at the top with Man United, talking in the 90s about his rejection of celebrity ...
"Before I knew it, we were being photographed outside my house and cameramen followed us everywhere. It was very uncomfortable. At that point I decided the celebrity lifestyle wasn't for me. Around that time I felt my commercial work was affecting my work, too. I thought 'no, football is my bread and butter. It has to, and always will, come first'
