Black Lights
In The Dark EP
new EP 27 June 2011
Manchester's new pace-setters Black Lights new EP oozes quality. Jack O'Connor's accoustic guitar intro's lead track 'In The Dark' with piano by Howard eastwood and featuring superb, yes 'stunning', crystal clear vocals from lead singer Jamie McCool. The two following tracks 'Alone' and 'We Can Fly' further demonstrate Dark Lights great potential to deliver material with an unusual uniquely pleasing quality, thoughtful, considered and a quite lush, lovely listen. Most deserving!!!

Black Veil Brides
Fallen Angels
new single 13 June 2011
Well produced, great powerful sound, fine arrangement... nice single could do well.

Album's Title Track Featured in Wes Craven's Scream 4
Summer 2011 just got a little hotter as the Los Angeles' newest rock sensations, the Black Veil Brides, continue their musical takeover with their major label debut, Set The World On Fire. The band's second album is slated for release via Lava Music/Universal Republic Records on June 13 in the UK. Set The World On Fire is the follow-up to their chart-topping debut album released in 2010. We Stitch These Wounds came in at No.36 on the Billboard Top 200 and #1 on the Billboard Independent chart.
"Everything is bigger -- more songs, more vocals, more melodies. And it all came naturally; it's not an attempt to try to outdo our first record, but we wanted to show how we had naturally grown as a band and as songwriters. This is my favorite record I've ever made -- and most importantly, the best album anybody's ever made" proclaims front man and founder Andy Biersack.
'Fallen Angels' is the first single from Set The World On Fire, is slated to arrive as an early present to fans on May 2nd via iTunes. With its arena-sized intro to its anthem chorus, the song is a mantra for anyone who has ever felt outside the norm and sure to become the battle cry of the band's devoted fan base, affectionately referred to as the BVBArmy. The video, shot in Los Angeles last month, was directed by Nathan Cox (Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, DevilDriver, HIM).
The title track from the upcoming release will also be featured in Wes Craven's Scream 4. The song found its way into the film after the band?s loyal BVBArmy flooded the Scream message boards when a survey was posted asking which artists they would like to see on the soundtrack. Before long, pages of posts mentioning the Black Veil Brides found their way in front of the music supervisor and director Wes Craven. That led to 'Set The World On Fire' being featured in what is sure to be one of the biggest horror films of the year.
The band is currently on the road headlining The AP Tour 2011. They will also be performing at this year's Bamboozle Music Festival in New Jersey, Rock on the Range in Ohio and Download Festival on 12th June in the UK before heading out on Warped Tour at the end of June.
Black Veil Brides are Andy Biersack (vocals), Jake Pitts & Jinxx (guitar), Ashley Purdy (bass) and Christian 'CC' Coma (drums).

Caned & Able
Ay Geeza! / Monkey Song
new single 9 May 2011
"It's obscene..." Caned & Able are approaching from somewhere out on the extreme left field and judging by 'Ay Ggeeza!' and 'Monkey Song' they have something different to offer. Grimey type raps with bluesy type sung vocals in a sonic splurge of echoed, phased and effected voices while the rhythm track jiggles along in a kind of familiar pop type way... most bizarre... I can see Jules Holland loving this arty space C&A have carved for themselves. Very nice!

Every summer needs its soundtrack; an album which both reflects a magical time and lodges in the memory as something special, while also a springboard for memorable live shows, treasured festival peaks and the deep-coursing feeling that this was only the beginning.
Caned & Able are about to unleash an album which will shock even those familiar with their earlier outings. Dark Matter is their step into the big league, a vibrant slab of accessibly melodic songs, still rippling with the thrill of studio laboratory experiments and draped in their trademark hallucinogenic sheen, topped and electrified by the explosive arrival of rapper-toaster-singer Big G, who effortlessly coaxes, cajoles and elevates the new songs into realms of further discovery and crowd-igniting angst.
This incendiary new phase starts on May 9 with the release of their new double A-side single, ‘Monkey Song’ & ‘Ay Geeza!’, but Caned & Able actually formed out of producers Patrick Bird and Martyn Savigar turning their Beats For Bars mashup project into an album called Smoke…, the stoner’s fave of 2008 released on the esteemed Malicious Damage label. C&A have also become in demand as remixers, happy beneficiaries including the Verve and currently, Primal Scream.
Although much of 2009 was spent DJing for bands such as The Orb and Lily Allen, by this time their studio antics had been augmented by supersonic former Siouxsie and the Banshees / Specimen guitarist Jon Klein, followed by fellow Spear Of Destiny / Big Country drummer Chris Bell.
Their most recent work was The Cure covers project, All I Wish… album, proceeds of which go to Cancer Research UK, eschewed obvious hits for panoramically gorgeous treatments of album tracks including ‘The Last Day Of Summer’ and ‘A Thousand Hours’ actually a collection of remixes of cover versions to be found on their 2010 release The Cure.
The mood of Dark Matter is a stark contrast, but no less capable of emotional whirlpools in the constantly shifting moods and wealth of diamond-sharp hooks. Much of the new flight-path comes with the arrival of Big G, who was immediately enlisted after rising to the challenge of recording all the album’s vocals in a single night without having heard the music before. Big G comes from a background of searching for the right break, having won the 2006 Street Vibe Music Talent Show and even appearing on Britain’s Got Talent, Let Me Entertain You and Sky’s Must Be the Music, along with performing at festivals supporting acts like Pendulum and N’Dubz.
The single demonstrates how he’s found his perfect niche, ‘Monkey Song’ becoming a riot of megaphone toasting, cello bass, bar-room reggae piano and sinewy groove acrobatics. Catchy in the extreme and upfront as an aural wedgie. ‘Ay Geeza!’ started life as a cover of The Cure’s ‘Meat Hook’, now an unrestrained surge of unabashed sonic ricochet.
Dark Matter follows on May 30. The new seven-piece Caned & Able chart their delirious sonic roller-coaster, with no little mischief on missives such as ‘Lyrical G’, which unfurls like a brontosaurus dry-humping early Funkadelic on acid, along with a severe toasting of ‘Bulletproof Vest’. The men and women at C&A also excel on the slower paced excursions, like Big G’s impassioned plea for tolerance on future single ‘Love And Hate’ and the ethnically mournful ‘Who Am I’, both framed by shimmering keyboards, haunting valley strings and those inimitable atmospherics. Meanwhile, ‘Raver’ harks back to early 70s slide guitar-iced rock soul. The album ends with possibly their most ambitious piece yet, the epic 15 minutes of ‘The Last Chapter’ which starts as delicate, lysergic ballad, before dropping to pulsating ambience, building back with drones and loops before the beat re-enters to lead the track to its climactic home stretch; a complex mini-symphony to close one of 2011’s truly remarkable albums.
Dark Matter is released as CD and digital download with ethereal iTunes bonus track ‘Nothingness’, plus a limited edition 500 pressing vinyl picture disc. Launches are planned in London on May 25 and Big G’s hometown of Northampton on May 26. Summer festival appearances are currently being lined up at Winterwell, Glastonbury, Hop Farm, Beautiful Days, Strummerville, Secret Garden Party, Big Chill, Shambala, Notting Hill Carnival and Bestival.

David's Lyre
Heartbeat
new single
Two mixes... six mins and eight mins.... jiggling seductively and probably with too much artistic subtlety too arrive in hitsville, but impressive nevertheless.

David’s Lyre’s ‘Heartbeat’ is turned inside out by Morgan Geist of legendary New York production duo Metro Area. Pulling out the rhythms, he blends the English folk elements of the original with leftfield house leanings to create something singular and direct. The 2 Bears remix is the work of Joe Goddard (Hot Chip) and Raf Rundell. They’ve made a name for themselves with their Greco-Roman nights and bring the party atmosphere to their reworking of ‘Heartbeat’. They give the track a carnival vibe, with New York dance rhythms and hypnotic grooves. David’s Lyre plays the Lexington Kings Cross, London on 23rd May

DJ Shadow
I Gotta Rock
new EP 11 May 2011
Six trax featured on Shad's new EP... my initial faves are 'I've Been Trying' and 'I Gotta Rokk - Irn Mnky Swagger Mix', but the whole thirty minute set bodes well for his first album in years due September. Tasty.

DJ Shadow has announced that he will release his first album for five years this autumn. Entitled 'The Less You Know The Better', it will be released via Universal/Island on 5th September. Shadow's new single, 'I Gotta Rokk', was played by Zane Lowe on Radio 1 this week, and the track was released to download stores in the UK yesterday. As well as 'I Gotta Rokk', the EP also features 'Def Surrounds Us' and 'I've Been Trying', which were released last year, and remixes of each track.

Ed Sheeran
The A Team
new single 13 June 2011
A pleasant, heart rendering accoustic offering... "They say she's in the Class A Team, been that way since 18, The worst things in life come free to us... sells love to another man.. it's too cold outside, for angels to fly, angels die...". At just 20 years of age our Ed is displaying some concerned wisdom for unfortunate Sisters and this is a catchy tune which would not sound out of place on any of the major stations, Radio's One, Two, Capital, Heart... very impressive.

Hotly tipped 20-year-old singer songwriter, Ed Sheeran, is set to embark on a highly anticipated UK tour, kicking off at Southampton’s Joiners on May 11, touring relentlessly throughout the summer and will finish his epic run of dates at Bestival on September 10. The run of dates include two shows at London’s Borderline, two shows at London’s Scala and many main stage festival appearances. Ed will also play a record three nights of sold-out shows at Norwich’s Waterfront in July making him the first artist in the venue’s history to do so.
Having grown up in Framlingham, Suffolk, Ed started playing guitar and writing at 11 years of age. After finding his sound - a fresh union mix of hip-hop, acoustic and folk - he left school at the age of 16 and moved to London to pursue his musical dream. Ed relentlessly gigged up and down the country, playing shows as often as he could, whether they were at hip-hop nights or acoustic pub shows. After coming across a website which listed every young promoter in town, Ed took it upon himself to MySpace them all asking them to put him on – from this alone, he lined-up nearly 100 gigs within 48 hours and the industry interest began.
Before signing to Asylum Records (part of Atlantic Records) in early 2011, Ed had already self-released 5 E.P’s selling tens of thousands of copies out of his backpack at gigs, his website and digital stores. January’s ‘No.5 Collaborations’ E.P (featuring hip-hop and grime favourites: Devlin, Wretch 32 and Wiley to name a few), stormed to #2 in the iTunes chart just after 24 hours. The only artist selling more copies than Ed at the time was Rihanna. Furthermore, this success led to a congratulatory phone call from Sir Elton John which was a testament to his sheer determination and hard work.
With a debut album set to release this autumn and the new single ‘The A Team’ (which will be Zane Lowe’s ‘Single of the Week’ on Radio 1 next week) releasing on June 13, 2011 is set to be Ed’s year. With buckets of soul, down-to-earth subject matters and spanning genres, the songs are as informed by Jay-Z as much as they are by Damien Rice. Watch this space; this is just the beginning for Ed Sheeran.

Fixers
Another Lost Apache
new single 9 May 2011
A very strange choralistic intro... into... two minute fifty seconds pop nugget... intriquing.. although this will probably get lost in the stampede of 'not quite strong enoughs'...

‘Another Lost Apache’ is the lead track from the forthcoming ‘Here Comes 2001, So Let’s All Head For The Sun’ EP by Fixers, which is released on 9th May. Their debut single ‘Iron Deer Dream’ was released on Young And Lost, and saw Fixers earn rave reviews in The Fly, The Guardian, Uncut and NME, who featured them as one of the top ten bands to watch in 2011. The band did sessions for Jo Whiley and Huw Stephens at Radio 1, whilst Zane Lowe and Nick Grimshaw gave the track repeated plays.
‘conspicuous kaleidoscopic melodies, quintessential British pop clarity’ – Uncut
‘It’s weird, it’s experimental, but it’s also instantly addictive’ – NME
‘a wondrous thing’ – Guardian

Up Up Up
new single 4 July 2011
Your New Summer Anthem! – NME
A catchy tunette no doubt, not sure it's strong enough to break through the throbbing strutting mass of new music, but it's certainly a pleasant 'up'lifting listen.

‘Up Up Up’ is to be the debut release from the Deep South’s ebullient purveyors of melody, rhythm and anomalous harmonies, GIVERS. ‘Up Up Up’ which comes from GIVERS debut album ‘In Light’, will be released July 4th on Glassnote (Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, Kele, Two Door Cinema Club, The Temper Trap).
Based in Lafayette, Louisiana, the quintet was formed by Taylor Guarisco (singer & guitarist) and Tiffany Lamson (singer, ukulele & percussionist), who met at the University of New Orleans. When Hurricane Katrina hit, it forced the two back to their home of Lafayette where they met Kirby Campbell (drums, programming & vocals), Nick Stevens (keyboards & flute) and Josh LeBlanc (bass guitar) and began to form the basis for GIVERS.
For the next year, the band went to work melding Guarisco’s passion for the sounds of New Orleans ignited by his time spent in Cajun and Zydeco bands and Lamson’s love of rock, pop and improvised jams into finely-honed songs for a debut EP.
Determined to make the band work, all members gave up their day jobs in order to prepare for a one-off support show with fellow indie experimentalists, Dirty Projectors. Their risk paid off: Dirty Projectors fell in love with the band and GIVERS were chosen for their remaining East Coast tour slots. Whilst performing at Austin City Limits festival the band were introduced to legendary music man Daniel Glass (founder of Glassnote Entertainment Group), who signed them soon after.
‘Up Up Up’ - mixed by Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Deerhunter) - was the flesh and bones of which were born out of the band’s second improvised show. It’s a bouncing ode to resilience featuring rich textures and startling immediacy. There’s a celebratory home-grown exoticism about the track as the band mix afro-beat, Cajun and Zydeco into something new.
GIVERS have spent the last few months wowing audiences across America with their kinetic live show, including BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and numerous other tastemakers at SXSW, who all hailed GIVERS the buzz band of the festival. GIVERS will continue to tour The US throughout May & June before hitting the UK for shows in early July ahead of a UK Tour & Field Day festival appearance in August.

Grinderman
Mickey Mouse & The Goodbye Man - Josh Homme Remix

new single 13 June 2011
I love this track... now with added Josh Homme... superb!!! Josh has speeded it a little and edited it by a minute or so.

Hard-Fi
Good For Nothing
new single 19 June 2011
This is more like it... a brassy, bold return to duty for Hard-Fi... a chunky rhthm track over arsey vocals with catchy hooks. Top Ten.. I pray!

Following a three year hiatus, BRIT-nominated four-piece HARD-FI are back with a brand new single ‘Good for Nothing’ set for release on June 19th.
‘Good For Nothing’ is a true statement of intent; an anthemic rebel-rousing call to arms that signals the start of a new phase for the band. Produced by frontman Richard Archer, the single has already received a mass of support from radio with Zane Lowe naming it his Hottest Record In The World Right Now and also playing it during his stint covering for Chris Moyles. More Radio 1 support has come from Fearne Cotton and XFM have also added to their daytime playlist with DJ Steve Harris naming it his Single of the Week.
Richard commented, “The last couple of years have flown by and I couldn't tell you why we seem to have been away for so long - I do know that we're really happy to be back, releasing a record and getting ready to play live again, something we've been missing and we're really, REALLY excited about. ‘Good For Nothing’ feels like a mini travelogue, it doesn't take itself too seriously, it felt perfect as our first record back. We really love it and hope you do to.”
The band have recently completed a run of low key warm up shows (Nottingham, Brighton and Bristol)and the new tracks have slided effortlessly into their sets ‘Good For Nothing’ rapidly becoming a highlight. The shows are a reminder of just how many massive tracks the band have in their arsenal including ‘Tied Up Too Tight’, ‘Suburban Knights’, ‘Hard to Beat’, ‘Cash Machine’, ‘Living For The Weekend’, etc. Watch this space for news on upcoming live shows and festival appearances.
Taking a few years off to rest, travel and reflect on their past works, Hard-Fi are now ready to step back into the limelight and take things forward. Over the past 18 months, Hard-Fi have been working on their long-awaited third album due out in September. Recorded in LA and the band’s own Cherry Lips studio in Staines, overall production duties fell to Richard with assistance from Stuart Price (Killers, Madonna) Greg Kurstin (Lilly Allen) & Alan Moulder (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Killers).
Hard-Fi emerged on the UK music scene in late 2005 to huge acclaim with their homegrown debut album. Stars of CCTV went on to sell in advance of a million copies (almost 900k in the UK) and was nominated for The 2006 Brit Awards for ‘Best British Group’ and ‘Best British Rock Act’ as well as a Mercury Music Award nod. The year concluded with 5 consecutive sold-out nights at Brixton Academy – the first band to do this on their debut album. Their 2007 follow up Once Upon A Time In the West also debuted at no. 1 in the UK charts.
Hard- Fi are Richard Archer (lead vocals and guitar), Ross Phillips (guitar and backing vocals), Kai Stephens (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Steve Kemp (drums).

Jakwob & Smiler
Right Beside You
new single 20 June 2011
Not bad... but not a stand-out track... should pick up airplay in the right places and raise awareness and potential... Chart chance.

Hotly-tipped remixer and producer Jakwob is branching out with the release of his debut EP 'Right Beside You' on June 20th, Jakwob is becoming an artist in his own right. The title track from the EP features Smiler and pairs his genre-defying dubstep production with an array of musical influences.
Hailing from the Midlands, UK, Jakwob is currently working on his debut album, and is very much in-demand as the producer of the moment. He's redefining the experimental, dubstep, and electronic scenes, taking strands of each style and twisting them into a new sound that is very much his own.
Jakwob first appeared on tastemaker radars via some major appreciation in the blog world for his bootleg of Ellie Goulding?s Starry Eyed (which has now had over 14 million hits on Youtube alone). He's been championed by the likes of Annie Mac and Zane Lowe and has gained further support with his remixes of the likes of Kid Sister, Robyn, Empire Of The Sun, Temper Trap, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Penguin Prison, Audio Bullys, Jessie J and Diplo.
2010 saw a full-house of Summer festivals including a storming set at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Bestival, Pukkelpop in Belgium, some Ibiza action at Wonderland with Moda, and many more.
Jakwob's musical exploits began in his teens, starting with jazz and moving on to a misspent youth engrossed in diverse musical styles from death metal to folk and many more beside. 'Right Beside You' will be released on Jakwob?s own imprint 'Boom Ting Recordings'

Koudlam
See You All
new single to be confirmed
A little Francais.. sounding kinda drunk... most bizarre... almost hanging... is that a Scottish accent? A may be baby...

In a world of bland and derivative pop music, Koudlam is a truly refreshing puff of smoky French air. He’s a self-professed ‘Symphonic Composer,’ who makes haunting and beautiful electronic power-pop songs. He croons these songs in a nasal, decidedly French-sounding English. They are completely hypnotic and brilliant. They’re hard to put into regular words. They’re scuzzy; they revel in sounding a bit rough-around-the–edges. They go from really tender to really menacing in about the time it takes to light another Gauloise. Luv Luv Luv Records is proud to announce its release of Koudlam’s debut to the Anglophone world. See You All is a perfect introduction to his work; an upbeat, slightly beat-up, euphoric orchestral electropop snarl that sits somewhere between Abba and M83 and The Fall. For the purposes of this press release, we asked Koudlam to sum up the message he wanted the listeners of this world to take away from his music. Simply; “Live with honour,” was his reply. For that, and for this record, and for the many records to come, we salute him.

Lady GaGa
Judas Remixes
release date to be confirmed
Four mixes here... Goldfrapp's spooky slowed vocal, Hurts, Guena and a teasing tempting jiggling Mirrors Une Autre Monde -Nuit mix... all fabby.

It looks to me like GaGa is going to try to smash The Beatles decades old record of having the Top 5 to themselves. GaGs has 'Hair' new entering this week, joining 'Judas' and 'The Edge Of Darkness' in the top ten.. and that's spiked interest in 'Born This Way'. The Remix packages accompanying GaGa's singles are utterly supreme... as was her mesmerising show broadcast on-line for Radio One's Big Weekend... yep I can see the Top 4 taking shape... jst one more and she'll the Top 5!!!!

Patrick Wolf
House
new single 20 June 2011
A lush appreciation of where the heart should be... 'Home'... in the 'House'... I really like this tune until it gets to the slow bit at the end... it doesn't spoil it too much for me, but I find it a little anti-climactic. Top 40 I hope.

'House' elicits a monumental howl from the fans 'there is a man onstage looking like he invented emotion, If you're a pretender in his path, you'd best step aside now.' - NME
'After new single, 'The City', has closed the set, the mood is ebullient: the underrated talents of Patrick Wolf have become altogether more apparent to everyone in attendance' - The Independent
'Britain's most innovative, radical and creative pop star' - The Observer
'Romantic, dramatic pop at its best' - Q
'fans will always be hungry like the Wolf for their hero' - NOTW
'Romancing on the streets, kissing on corners, contentment never sounded so good' - Notion
'Suckers for pop heartbreak, handclaps and big violiny bits, consider yourself warned: not only is this POTW, it's [?Time Of My Life?] shimmying up the Singles Of The Year' - The Guardian
"This is the greatest peace I've ever known, only your loves makes house a home." The stirring opening lines from Patrick Wolf?s amazing new single,
'House'. Released on June 20th, on Hideout Recordings, this is the second single to be taken from Patrick Wolf's forthcoming album, 'Lupercalia' (also out June 20th). Inspired by long drives through California, Wolf wrote the track whilst recording early demos for the album and discovering old exotica vinyl.
As current single, 'The City' enjoys mass critical acclaim and with a prime position on the Radio 2 A list, anticipation for Wolf's new track is rife.
To coincide with the release of ?House?, Patrick will be playing a special gig at the HMV Garage on June 20th and has also just been announced to play the NME stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals, Isle Of Wight and Get Loaded In The Park this Summer.

Sean Reid & Cash
All I Need Is You
new single 9 May 2011
An impressive track and remix rainbow... this seems to me of equal quality to Chase & Status... particularly like the instrumental track on the Flint Hayerr Radio Mix although for mainstream play I prefer the Radio Mix. Nice tune.

Sean Reid is a talented singer, dancer, rapper and producer who is ready to release his debut single “All I Need Is You” featuring Cash on the 9th May 2011.
In Sean’s words he explains “All I Need Is You” is an age old tale of not knowing what you have until it’s gone and every relationship is a balance between give and take and not just take take take.
It was Sean’s stint as a Comedian that made him realise entertainment was his niche. After spending time with his girlfriend in America, Sean grew an interest in Stand up comedy, writing his own material. He soon realised being on stage and entertaining was his future. On his return back to the UK he met the person who helped him through his transformation from comedy to music. Jamie Strang (Kross Kulture) was spending time with the BBC, participating in a media training course when he and Sean started jamming in the bedroom, experimenting with beats and writing lyrics. At first they were asking others for beats and tracks until Jamie suggested making their own and progress was made from there. Artists like Kanye West and Pharell were a great inspiration for Sean proving you could make meaningful hip hop and not just focusing on rhyme, preaching of guns and gangs but life in general.
Sean got his first breakthrough being chosen from a large pool of audition applicants to perform at T in the Park alongside the legendary Killers who headlined the festival. Having performed with the likes of Akon, Taio Cruz, Lemar and Ms Dynamite and more experience behind him he is ready to shine. Now signed to Discipline Music the sky is the limit for this new star.
Sean is in the studio working hard on his debut album due to be released this Summer so watch out for some monster tunes heading your way very soon. For more details on Sean you can visit his official website - www.seanreidmusic.com

Skepta vs Steve Angello
I'll Be Back
new single to be confirmed
Best yet from Skepta and v different... a great instrumental track, intro - enter Skepta with his powerful rhyme and a stomping electro line with great stereo effect... "It's a brand new day I run this, I tie up my shoe lace, pass me the tooth brush and the toothpaste, business man without the suitcase (sic... brief case maybe?), like Terminator said, I'll be back...." Top Ten!!

MC Skepta has jumped on Steve Angello's track 'Knas', and he has created an absolute monster!!! It's been doing the rounds on radio, and is all over 1Xtra at the moment, so after some digging we've managed to get the track from Skepta himself!

Soundgirl
Don't Know Why
new single 20 June 2011
Carly Simon and Nile Rogers original was the biz and Soundgirl new take on 'Why' keeps much to original atmosphere of the song... great, Atomic Kittens for 2011 - each of them - hitbound!!

Meet the effervescent new British trio SoundGirl - Izzy B (16), Olivia (17) and Little Nikki (14), three girls who'll put the sass back into British girl-pop as they unleash a barrage of future hits on a largely unsuspecting British public. SoundGirl released their debut single I?m The Fool, the free download, in April through www.soundgirlofficial.com. Following this, they release next single 'Don't Know Why' on 20th June.
Already a live favourite, Don't Know Why - which the girls worked on with Miranda Cooper - is a fizzy 2011s-style refit of Carly Simon's 'Why' with thumping beats, and the girls' sharp-witted style splashed all across it.
SoundGirl have already rocketed backwards and forwards between London and LA, recording an album with some of the best writers and producers in the business, and performed to tens of thousands of future fans while touring with Pixie Lott and Justin Bieber.
Izzy B, Olivia and Little Nikki shot the stunning video in Barbados and sees them exploring the local Bajan towns and generally having fun!
Their debut album, yet to be titled, will follow on 19th September.

new single 27 June 2011
This is Duran Duran / New Romantic for 2011... 'Holy Ghost'... the deconstruction of things biblical continues at a pace and in the face of, as Bob Marley put it in his 'Redemption Song' people who want to "fulfill the prophecies"... that makes it a great new indie pop record with a weakness for devil worship and that's not stopped GaGa so why should it stop White Lies? Top 30.

White Lies have announced details of the release of a new single. Holy Ghost will be released through Fiction Records on June 27th. The single is a reworked version of the track taken from their 2nd album Ritual, released earlier this year. Ritual reached number 3 in the UK album charts, charted top 10 in many countries worldwide and made the top 20 in the US i-Tunes chart. White Lies will be playing Summer festivals as well as supporting Kings Of Leon on their UK and European stadium dates.
Released on 7" and download, the single was produced and mixed by Alan Moulder (Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, My Bloody Valentine, Depeche Mode), and mastered by Nilesh Patel (Daft Punk, Justice).
Ritual was released in January of this year; the album reached number 3 in the U.K. album charts, charted top 10 in many countries worldwide and made the top 20 in the U.S. i-Tunes chart.
Following their recent sold-out U.K., U.S. and European tours earlier this year, Kings Of Leon Stateside arena support slots and Muse U.K. and European supports in 2010, White Lies are set to return to the U.S. in May for a short headline tour, including a performance on the Late Show with David Letterman and a New York Terminal 5 show, before returning to the U.K to perform at the Summer festivals and once again play main support on the Kings of Leon U.K. and European stadium tour.
Their current list of U.K. dates are as follows:
MAY
28th Slane Slane Castle *
30th Coventry Ricoh Arena *
JUNE
17th Sunderland Stadium of Light *
18th Llanelli Beach Break Live

This week's Goss ...

UK Top 40Sun 15 May 11
Congratulations to Adele who has just scored Number One Single in the USA. 'Rolling In The Deep' has deposed Katy Perry's 'ET'.

Adele's album '21' remains at Number One on the Billboard Top 200 Albums where there are a record eight new entries in the top ten - among them Stevie Nicks, Sade, Fleet Foxes and The Beastie Boys.

Lady GaGa seems a little more relaxed recently... her flamboyant confident appearance with Graham Norton seemed in sharp contrats to her nervous almost teary showing on Jonathan Ross's show last year... Headlining Radio One's Big Weekend GaGa now has three tunes in the Top 40... with 'The Edge Of Glory' storming in at 6, anti-religion song 'Judas' climbing to 11 and gay anthem 'Born This Way' bouncing back at 24.

Alexandra Stan's (pictured right) teasing 'Mr Saxobeat' jumps to 18 and she is joined by 'Hot' singer fellow Rumanian Inna in at 17 with 'Sun Is Up'.

So Sacha Baron Cohen fixed it for Azerbaijan to win the Eurovision Song Contest, the UK's Song For Europe, Blue's 'I Can' entered at 16 last week, finished 11th in the Contest last night and falls to 26 on the Top 40 today...
