10 - ALL THE YOUNG The First Time new single

This week's post ...

All The Young
The First Time
new single
All The Young sound like a great new indie/rock band with a seering new tune. 'The First Time' should be a smash... alas the new wave of Brit bands seem to be struggling to break through and we need to find out why... I'm fairly certain it's the inequal support dished out to the varying genres and some discrimination at the very top against these bands... I just made a sweeping statement and what worries me most is I'm increasingly certain it is the case. Anyway this great new song should be in the Top 40 with ease but probably won't be.

Arctic Monkeys

Drumsound & Bassline Smith
Freak
new single 18 April 2011
Great production, great hooks, great mix, great big hit - top ten!!!
Legendary Drum and Bass trio Drumsound & Bassline Smith return for 2011 with mainstream banger, Freak. Already grabbing the ears of Annie Mac, Skream! & Benga and Mistajam on Radio One, this tune is about to blow up in a big way!
DnB would not be the same without Drumsound & Bassline Smith (aka Andy Wright, Benjamin Wiggett and Simon Bassline Smith). Together they have body-slammed dancefloors from Derby to Durban and ingrained themselves as three of the finest DnB tastemakers on the planet through their label Technique Recordings, an imprint already into its 12th year of killer dancefloor joints!
Always in hot demand, last year alone saw them remix everyone from Afrojack, Blame to VV Brown. Ever popular with the most respected heads of Radio One, where they regularly enjoy airwave time courtesy of Fabio & Grooverider, Zane Lowe, Annie Nightingale and Annie Mac who simply stated “We love them and have been supporting them since day one”.
Freak is an insanely addictive slice of DnB from start to finish. Delivered with a selection of remixes offering across the board appeal, expect to find a high energy Main Mix, alongside Crissy Criss’s slamming Drumstep Remix and Drumsound and Bassline Smith own Dubstep rework.
With early support from the DJ elite there’s no doubt you’ll be hearing a lot of more of this dancefloor destroyer for months to come.

Miles Kane
Rearrange
new single
Another great new single from Miles. 'Rearrange' deserves top forty status and I hope this will crack for him. A fine record.

Mona
Listen To Your Love
new single
Mona are fully deserving of their hotly tipped status and 'Listen To Your Love' will hopefully take them nearer big success. A fine uptempo indie rock track, 'Listen To Your Love' should garner airplay... surely... and engineer the band's first top forty success.

This week's Goss ...

UK Top 40 Sun 3 Apr 11
Jennifer Lopez & Pitbull blast the box to go straight to Number One on the UK Singles while Adele stays at Number One on the Album Chart for a tenth week.

Just the two new entries this week with J-Lo at the top and Katie B's 'Broken Record' in at 8.

Stateside Katie Perry's 'ET' goes to Number One on the Hot 100 while completely re-habilitated Chris Brown's new album 'F.A.M.E.' pushes all aside to take top spot on the Billboard Top 200 Albums.

WiggyOut Harrold In

Jason gets Real

Here we go, Mike's being indiscreet again... just like Disaster Dave, the former boss of Red Dragon FM who enjoyed flaunting his power by openly discussing the private fees and deals of his team of DJ's....
After Jason Harrold's humiliating demise and embarrassing treatment at the hands of Red Dragon FM he returns at the expense of Steve 'Wiggy' Wiggins controversial exit from Real Radio Wales.
Real Radio listeners started a doomed Facebook campaign for Wiggy to be retained, but one suspects not many of them would have known his replacement would be Jason.
Harrold presented the Red Dragon FM Breakfast Show for fifteen years (or was it fifty...) succeeding Chris Moore whom he now succeeds for a second time on Real Mornings while Chris takes over The 1-4pm Afternoon Show until today hosted by Wiggy.
The curious world of radio dj-ing is supported by ego which is not conducive to DJ's and so called Presenters revealing how poorly they are or paid - the fun of playing tunes and hearing one's own voice on the air is full of allure.
Even the term presenter is a fallacy, an inept renaming of the Disc-Jockey job. Most 'Presenters' would have few listeners without the records they play and that's why this DJ still uses the term Disc-Jockey.
Real Radio Wales incumbent Breakfast Show hosts
Woody and Jagger must be nervously looking over their shoulders. Jason is not known for being an inexpensive hiring, the highest paid by far at Red Dragon FM it's questionable whether this hard-nosed businessman will remain on Mornings for long... the Battle For Real Breakfast begins now!!!
