This week's post ...

Bandito
Rockin At The Disco
new single 7 December
Well this could be Basshunter but it's not. It is 23 year old Russel Graham from Glasgow, already tried his luck impressing the great Profit Cowell and sorted a short stint for young Russ and a Cowell made band supporting McFly and Westlife ... you get the picture. If you can hear Basshunter at 156bpm you'll be bang on ... personally, I think young Russ will need to re-invent himself before he has a hit with this. Now talking of Basshunter ...

Basshunter
I Promised Myself
new single 30 November
Swedish model pop star Basshunter delivers his standard new choone the 151bpm 'I Promised Myself', another top forty hit ... probably. However, I think the template may be wearing a little thin now!

Cold In Berlin
Destruction
new single 30 November
Formerly Death Cigarettes, Cold In Berlin get straight down to biznezz with this two minute no-nonsense power pop punk shocker. Powerful vocal, track and production ... possible big breakthrough.

The Count & Sinden
Strangest Things / Mega
new single 7 December
Hey these is some on the edge dancefloor nuggets.. "The strangest things happen on Friday Nights .. " and the 126bpm 'Mega' sounding like one of Dr Who's Daleks has escaped makes this a neatly useful CD. Good stuff, should win many fans.

Ellie Goulding
Under The Sheets
new single 16 November
Electrotrash Wife Of The Week .. hmmm 21 year old Ellie Goulding debuts here with an irresistable sauntering sexy vocalled 'Under The Sheets'. This 102bpm gem follows her cover of Passion pits 'Sleepy Head' and with a little luck could go massive for her. Great record.

Filthy Dukes
Nonsense In The Dark
new album 30 October
These guys are my favourite mixers of the moment this entire album is packed with
electro dance gems from the opener 'This Rhythm', through the great 'What happens Next', 'Messages', 'Tupac Robot Club Rock', title track 'Nonsense In the Dark' any of which could become a first hit ... some nice mellow moments with 'poison The Ivy' and 'Somewhere At sea' also. Top notch.

Flight Of The Conchords
I Told You I Was Freaky
new album
Well what a strange concoction, this lot are filed in the comedy section at HMV so you know you're getting quality. New Zealands madmen conjour thirteen electro file trax and your attention is immediately drawn to a dance floor classic, the 140bpm 'Too Many Dicks On The Dancefloor'. At just over two minutes an alluring introduction to the Conchords bunch. Very nice.

Foo Fighters
Greatest Hits
new album 2 November
Busy month for Dave Grohl with his new Them Crooked Vultures spin-off debut released on 16 November. A superb appearance on Jools Hollands 'Later' shows the Foos are still in the premier league and this greatest hits album is just that. Packed full of gems from 'This Is A Call' right through to current top forty hit the 80bpm 'Wheels' and another great new track, the 140bpm 'Word Forward'. There's an excellent accoustic version of 'everlong' included as well. How's 11 out of 10 as a review score.

French Horn Rebellion
Up All Night
new single 28 September
Although released in september, FHR have been steadily picking up airplay with this superbly catchy electro radio friendly floorfiller 'Up All Night'. Milwaukee brothers David and Robert Perlick-Molinari could get themselves a sleeper hit here, it's an interesting arrangement and wouldn't sound out of place on Radio 2 alongside the heady achievement of Grimmys Record of the Week and support from Zane Lowe & Kissy sell Out. Very nice.

Jason Manford
Live At The Manchester Apollo
new album 16 November
This man is one of Britains funniest new comics, superb observational comedy from Man City fan Jason and .... not a swear word to be heard. I love his routine about Dad's making everything up, black pudding hunting at the bottom of the garden and ice-cream vans only play their tunes when they've run out of ice-cream ... well you'd believe it if you didn't know. What a rooooze. Top notch, the very best, the new Tony Hancock.

Kid Sister
Right Hand High
new album 30 November
Kanye West is a big fan / contributor to this lady and here comes a superb new song. The 126bpm 'Right Hand High' sounds like a warning to an unwanted advance and if not headed there'll be trouble ... "keep your right hand high ... " know what I mean. Great record, a taster for her debut album 'Ultraviolet' due next year, hope it's a big hit.

La Roux
Quicksand
new single 23 November
Ellie's new tune is another cert for the top forty, the 138bpm offbeat 'Quicksand' should pick up oodles of airplay too.

Little Boots
Earthquake
new single 16 November
Following 'New In Town' and top ten hit 'Remedy' Little Boots releases a third single from her debut 'Hands' album. The 124bpm 'Earthquake' is another chunky electro delight which should be an instant top twenty hit. Then to consolidate to four hits, Little Victoria should release an edit of the superb six minute 'Stuck On repeat' she put out on promo last year. Talented gal, big hits.

Mr Hudson
Straight No Chaser
new album
FSupernova is a floorfilling tune and the album continues Mr.H's transition toward acceptance in the mainstream Hip Hip world ... a justified position because this
is top quality material ... Brilliant.

Them Crooked Vultures
New Fang
new single 16 November
Dave Grohl's side project featuring QOTSA's Joshe Homme and John paul jones. This pounding 187bpm rocker 'New Fang' is a few weeks late for Halloween but should up the anti for Them Crooked Vultures debut album. You can get yourself a free download track by surfing onto iTunes. Top gear.

Weezer
Raditude
new album 9 November
Still get plenty of requests for Weezer .. Buddy Holly, Sweater Song, Pork & Beans .. so it's a welcome at the door for their latest album with the uptempo 'I Want You' lead single to begin things rolling ... followed by my favourites 'The Girl Got Hot' and 'I'm Your Daddy'. Quality assured.

This week's Top 40 ...

Top 40 Sun 1 Nov 09

Cheryl Cole scores a double success with the number one single and this week's new number one album. 'Fight For This Love' is top song for a second week while 'Three Words' the title track from her debut solo album enters at 26. It's a Will I Am return match with Cheryl who appeared on a mix of his 'Heartbreaker' hit and it's his third song on the Top 40 with two Black Eyed Peas trax in the top ten.

Then there's Westlife - highest new song at 2 .. but oh they may have the fanbase but the vocals are so inferior compared to Daughtry's original which re-enters at 39.

Jay Sean's US chart-topper 'Down' debuts in the UK at 3 and is replaced by Firflies 'Owl City' as US No.1.

Miley Cyrus, Lady GaGa, Biffy Clyro, Armand Van Helden's Duck Sauce, Michael Buble's second track 'Cry Me A River' and Florence & The Machine's superb new cover of Candi Staton & The Source's 'You've Got The Love' make up the rest of this weeks ten new entrants.

9 new entries & 1 re-entry – 5 up, 24 down, 1 non-mover

Spooks...

Mmmm the Pilsbury Dough Man

When Vaclav Klaus signs the Czech Republic into the Treaty of Lisbon this week we may be able to finally assign World War 2 into history. Some feel it to be the biggest political disaster since the Versailles Treaty of 1918, Britain shamelessly delivered into the European superstate without a vote or a fight. Not yet anyway, and today (Sun 1 Nov 09) we're being told by the Sunday Express that the EU will force Britain to scrap it's century old habit of the money back guarantee. It's another well thought out policy you could easily attribute to a bunch of spooky shadowy unelected criminals.

Oh by the way, Happy Halloween if that's possible.

Mmmmmmmm ah yes

Happy Birthday
