Looking into the 'abyss' this week has not been very pleasant. From the new album, the brilliantly titled 'United Abominations' Megadeth return with new members and their most accessible music yet. 'A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free)' is superbly produced AOR more readily associated with the likes of Van Halen. A darker message possibly. Par excellence. XXXXx

London DIY three piece Let's Wrestle have their own slant on things as 'Song For Abba Tribute Record' proves. Together with 'Quazar Blues' and 'I Want To Be In Husker Du' making an unusual listen. The launch at Nambucca on 15 May looks fun - Wet Dog, Hot Silk Pockets, Shimmy Rivers & DJ Eddie 'Art Brut' Argos. There may be something freakishly commercial about these guys given the airplay chance. XXXx

Geneva based Young Gods started in 1985, now not quite so young they can still pack a punch. Heroes in their Swiss homeland they attract a cult audience here and played at Mad4it two years back. This is a strong three track single and although doubtful for charting it's worth a listen to hear how these rockin' Swiss roll ... swiss roll geddit!!. XXX younggods.com
