New new romatically minded Fyfe Dangerfield is using his time between The Guillemots albums by releasing a debut solo album and judging by this taster it's gotta be good ... very good. 'She Needs Me' is another plaintive heartfelt love song .. utterly charming and should bode well for a successful 2010 for Fyfe. Top tune

You may have heard The Heavy on Jonathan Ross Radio 2 Show recently ... this is a stand-out track with a monstrous big drum sound and a nasty guitar riff ... so stand out is this it could with a little luck easily break into the new year top forty. Big!

Superb straight away, with it's massive chugging bassy electro percussive intro, keyboards and haunty vocal. Top lyrics give it top five chance in 2010. It's the first single to be released from, and title track of their fourth album due for release a week later. Top tune.

Very strange musically - an album of incidental sounds, an unusual array of one minute tracks interspersed with atmospheric meanderings ... it is the soundtrack to the film 'Where The Wild Things Are' so that explains the absence of any recogniseable full on songs .. maybe. An aquired taste, pleasant but to be aquired.

These Los Angelino guys are the living embodiment of what would once have been called glam rock ... with tongue firmly in cheek here comes Steel Panther's follow-up to the brilliant 'Death To All But Metal'. The storming 150bpm 'Sexy Santa' is a bawdy piss take ... "kiss beneath the camel toe ... his sacks full of rubbers ...". Oh it's brilliant, hard not to laugh funny, and a great rude pop rock record.

Congratulations to Carwyn Jones on becoming Labour's new Welsh Leader, just interviewed on BBC Wales he thanked the 1,000 who were at the hustings for his election ... not bad in a population of two to three million. The thoroughly happy AM for Bridgend, Jones may have dropped Gordon's big secret when he said live on BBC Wales he hoped to lead Welsh Labour to a good general election result in ... April. So there you are April for the general election. Needless to say BBC Wales didn't challenge him on his naming the date. Posted 1 December 2009
