Pure Reason Revolution - In Aurelia remix not scheduled for release Pure Reason Revolution have played a couple of gigs at Cardiff Barfly this year and they offer something a little different from the norm. I hope this remixed version of In Aurelia gets a single release, it would make a fine follow-up to The Intention Craft. Both tracks were originally featured on their excellent concept album which features quite long - almost progressive rock segments. Their vocal harmonies are top suff and there's more than a few hits on the way from this band. XXXx www.purereasonrevolution.com (Posted 9 December) |

Tony Christie - Merry Xmas Everybody new single 5 December I bet Noddy loves this swing version of his pension plan (Noddy Holder that is because yes this is Slade xmas number one song of 1973) and also treated in the same swing-beat sic style is Amarillo - one of the biggest sellers of 05 ... hey I really like this and that's probably the only surprising thing about this review. The Mules - Polly-O new single 19 December 'Electrobilly' band The Mules were cultivated in a basement underneath an Oxford chapel, 'an angry salvation army band' ... 'Polly-O' is their debut single launched this coming Thursday 15th December @ The Boston Arms, Tufnell Park in North London aith special guests (maybe Marquis Cha Cha label mates Bromheads Jacket???) and on Friday with Mono Taxi at The Windmill in Brixton. The Mules with their jaunty, 'jinking' observational style could well follow them and The Arctics into the chart. Interesting. Fizzgig - You Can't Have Me new single 14 November Cincinatti four piece Fizzgig have created an Interesting track here in at least including what sounds like a clanging pipe to compliment the snare on this jaunty little romantic rebuff. The chorus gets a little bit of a junior schoolish na-na-na-na-na towards the end. Catchy though and with a bit of luck and some good follow-ups they could score. As 70,000 have already done you too can check their sound at My Space by clicking the link below, a UK tour is being organised for 2006. XXXx www.myspace.com/fizzgig (Posted 11 December) |
