The Delays -
Valentine
new single 20 February
The Delays have come up with an electro/guitar flavour pop stormer here, pulling in at a pounding 126bpm Valentine should be a sure shot for Number One ... except it's being released a week after Valentine's Day. Nevertheless it's a great track and a taster for their new album 'You See Colours' to be released on 6 March. See The Delays on a 14 date tour kciking off at Liverpool Stanley Theatre on 20 Feb and winding up in their homecoming gig at Southampton University on 9 March. Great stuff, top notch. XXXXx

Come On In Out Of The Cold

Newport's Big Mike aka Mike MacNamara has been ever-present on South Wales gigging scene for over a decade. He is a fine songwriter and an avid enthusiast for the 60's Soul purveyed by the likes of Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett, and in performance he creates both an authentic sound and a unique stage presence. This release support's the Kaleidoscope Project, now in it's thirtieth year, the project which promotes self-esteem and helping people with drug problems take back control of thir lives. XXXX

Meeky Rosie-
Nobody Gets Away

new single scheduled for March to be confirmed

Look out for these guys, friends at Plymouth Uni and now a good prospect for success. March is the month that this single Nobody Gets Away is scheduled for release and Meeky Rosie begin a year of touring. There are three excellent mixes included here - Alan Moulder's Single Mix, The Jagz Kooner remix and The Knight remix - each is well worthy. Look out for Meeky Rosie's 'Forever', the most controversial film at the Sundance Festival 'Who Killed The Electric Car' XXX

Beck -
Guerolito
new album 23 January
Beck is for me the King Of Cool despite that wicked Victoria Newton labelling him boring, she rather prefers 50 Cent ... I rest my case. This remix album is full of invention, yes OK it's double the mileage from the same songs, but this is a superb collection Hell Yes through E-Pro, remixes by Ad-Rock, Dizzee Rascal and Air - a tour is due methinks. Archie Bronson Outfit -
Dart For My Sweetheart

new single 27 February

South London's Archie Bronson Outfit bring you R&D, Rhythm & Dada that is! Signed to The Arctic Monkeys Label Domino Records this is another formidable new style created in an intensive writing and recordingspell in London and Nashville. There is a stomping feel to 'Dart' and an accoustic version appears on their second album 'Derdang Derdang' which was recorded in Nashville and produced by Jacquire King, very different and good stuff. Jack Johnson -
Better Together
new single 27 February
Jack Johnson 'raised on a surfboard in Hawaii ...' and somewhere in his past he must have consciously or subcontiously taken in Bobby Goldsboro's Hello Summertime because I can hear the whistling bit in here. Better Together is a gentle skit, a gentle and romantic little accoustic number weened to woo, lifted from the 'In Between Dreams' album which should find itself in the Top 20. See Jack in the UK, Bristol Colston Hall on 24 Feb then Manchester, Plymouth and London Hammersmith Apollo on 3rd March. XXX

The Open -
We Can Never Say goodbye

new single 27 February

The Open have already got a splendid album in the can in 'Statues' out on 6 Feb. The lead track 'We Can Never Say Goodbye' with it's haunting, pleading refrain makes an excellent single to be released on 27 Feb. The band are playing several dates in Feb starting at Bristol Uni on the 1st Feb, then Nottingham, Manchester, Stoke, Wolverhampton, London Kings Cross and Liverpool Academy. Excellent! XXXX
