El Presidente -
Turn This Thing Around
new single 30 January
Superb .... another superb single from Dante Gizzi and his chums. 100MPH and Rocket broke El Presidente into the singles chart and Turn This Thing Around should do even better. 'Mixing 70's Elton John, Chic and indie pop' an irresistable recipe, a great uplifting sound! XXXXx

I Want You To Stay
new single 20 February
It's been a great year for Maximo Park and 2006 kicks off with them headlining the NME Awards Tour 2006 supported by Arctic Monkeys, We Are Scientists and Mystery Jets. 'I Want You To Stay' is a nother fine single taken again from their debut album 'A Certain Trigger' and should follow it's three predecessors 'Apply Some Pressure', 'Going Missing' and 'Graffitti' into the Top Twenty. Kubb -
Grow
new single 6 February
Kubb aka Harry Collier from Brighton and gang hit an amazing No.3 on the pre-order charts with the debut album 'Mother'. A just reward for a year spent touring and fine tuning these great songs, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Later with Jools Holland and four appearances at Cadiff Barfly and a Top Thirty breakthrough with Wicked Soul! This new single 'Grow' is mellow, moody even and reminiscent melodically of something I can't quite put a name to ... yet ... another fine song and a deserved hit. XXX

Humanzi -
Long Time Coming
new single 13 February
Long Time Coming features a storming intro which kind of hooks you in straight away. Humanzi's first single 'Get Your Shit Together' / 'Fix The Cracks' caused a bit of a stir as the title may suggest and this new record confirms their pop pedigree. Humanzi homed in inner-city Dublin and weened on Clash, Underworld, Talking Heads, Velvet Underground, Stooges and Roxy Music there's an enormous pool to dwell on and a lot of energy here too. XXX

Belarus -
Standing In The Right Place
new single Feb
Belarus will I suspect put Farringdon on the map, not the London Farringdon but the one between Oxford and Swindon. Having selected repeat for these three tracks and heard them a good twenty times each - they are quite something. Produced by Dave Eringa who's handy work can be heard on Manics, Idlewild and Ash tunes you can hear the excellence of the songs cutting through. "Bruised rock, taut voices and soaring chorus", aiming for stadium rock-ville, a great start and an appetizing taster for their debut album 'Comunicate' due in April. XXXx

The Fallout Trust -
Washout
new single 13 February
Joe Winter and Guy Connelly took a trip to Berlin's Hansa studios and were inspired to form a band, enter Jess & Matt Winter, Gavin Ellis and Matt Watson and The Fallout Trust were hatched. Impressed by Bowie's Low and Iggy Pop's Lust For Life they've set about creating their debut album 'In Case Of The Flood'. 'Washout' points to a strong sound as do the tracks you'll hear upon surfing onto their website, you can hear and see them for yourself during the next couple of months - they play at Cardiff Barfly on Saturday 11th February.
